What are the key technical performance aspects of adhesives?
1、Processability, This refers to the performance of adhesives related to bonding operations, including the preparation, application, setting, and curing conditions of adhesives, as well as the evaluation of the ease of bonding operations. As mentioned earlier, multi-component adhesives require on-site mixing, chemically reactive adhesives have temperature requirements for curing reactions, solvent-based adhesives need to be left to stand after application until the solvent evaporates before bonding, and so on. These issues must be clearly understood when selecting and using adhesives to ensure effective bonding.
2、 Adhesive strength is a performance indicator that ensures the firmness of the bond. Insufficient bonding strength can cause the adhered object to fall off. If it is used for wall decoration, the adhered object will fall off, which not only affects the quality of decoration, but sometimes can also cause injury accidents.
3、 Stability refers to the degree of strength change of the bonded specimen after immersion in a specified medium at a certain temperature for a certain period of time. Such as water resistance, oil resistance, etc. Commonly used to represent measured strength or strength retention rate. For adhesives used to bond decorative materials to floors, exterior walls, bathrooms, toilets, etc., good stability is required.

Because the most commonly used adhesives nowadays are organic polymer materials mainly composed of synthetic resins or synthetic rubber, which are prone to aging and deterioration during use, causing the adhesive layer to lose effectiveness and peel off.
5、 Temperature resistance refers to the changes in the performance of an adhesive within a specified temperature range. Including heat resistance (under high temperature conditions), cold resistance (under low temperature conditions), and resistance to high and low temperature variations. These temperature changes will also alter the composition of the adhesive, resulting in a decrease in bonding strength until the adhesive layer falls off.
6、 Weather resistance refers to the ability of adhesive components exposed to outdoor environments to withstand weather conditions such as rain, sunlight, wind, snow, and moisture, known as weather resistance. The weather resistance also reflects the aging resistance of the adhesive layer under long-term natural conditions. Similarly, these natural factors can cause the performance of the adhesive layer to deteriorate, affecting the bonding strength.
